The Space Between Words - A New Short Film from FoxHead Productions
We are excited to announce the release of our latest short film, The Space Between Words, which premiered on November 1st, 2024 on YouTube. Written and directed by the talented Max Kinstler, alongside co-writer and 1st AD Jake Salter, this film takes viewers on a surreal journey through the mind of a young writer grappling with creativity challenges which affect his entire life.
Logline: A young writer suffering from writer's block has an unusual encounter in an abandoned warehouse that distorts his reality.
In this film, we explored the complex nature of the creativity process, what it’s like to get caught up under the pressure of success, and the affect that one’s surroundings can have on their mind.
Following our 2021 debut short film Shuteye, many life events got in the way of planning and producing our next film. After much deliberation, we settled on the basis for The Space Between Words and ran with it.
Production Journey
Production for The Space Between Words commenced in January in Milwaukee. With a professional crew and a passionate cast, we faced the challenges of shooting in an abandoned warehouse environment. The blistering cold and snowy January weather complicated production, as crew members faced traveling delays due to weather. While the interesting and stark surroundings of the warehouse provided a unique backdrop for the film, the partial lack of heating and tight schedule pushed our team to creatively rethink our filming approach to ensure we made our day while keeping everyone safe and capturing the best footage and performances possible.
Cinematographer Drew DeSollar brought the vision to life with his stunning visuals, capturing the emotional intensity of the story. Starring Luca Clesceri as the young writer, Tony, alongside Emmy Wallander as Claire, their performances add depth and nuance to the film's narrative.
